Be a part of the 2022 OAJ Trial Academy!

The Oklahoma Association for Justice Mentors Program proudly presents the 2022 Trial Academy.

Who: The Trial Academy is open to any member or prospective member of the Oklahoma Association for Justice who seeks to become a better trial lawyer. No experience is necessary. 

What: A year-long trial program. From Voir Dire to Verdict, participants will learn valuable trial skills from some of Oklahoma's best trial lawyers and each other.

When: Each month, teams will meet in Oklahoma City and Tulsa to learn and practice. A final schedule will be released in late January, but the tentative schedule will give you a general idea of how things will go. 

Where: Big group demonstrations of each trial skill will be held in OKC or Tulsa every other month. Then, the following month, each team will meet to practice the skill on the case materials that will be used at the mock trial in December.

Why: It is a great way to connect with other lawyers who are trying to become better trial lawyers. Oklahoma has some of the best trial lawyers in the country and they are eager to pass on their knowledge to others.

The program will give someone with no trial experience or someone with a lot of trial experience a chance to practice and work on the skills required to get justice in the courtroom. At the end of the program, a trial team will be selected from the group of participants to try a mock trial with real jurors and witnesses.

July: Team Practice - Direct Examination
August: Cross-Examination Clinic*
September: Team Practice - Cross-Examination**
October: Expert Witness Clinic*
November: Mock Trials
